Fussiness - A Blog

  • When you buy from a small business an actual person does a little happy dance!

“When you buy from a small business an actual person does a happy dance”, a fellow entrepreneur and friend gave us this quote.  It is completely accurate and succinctly personifies the entrepreneur.  It resonated so deeply with us that we will endeavor to purchase our holiday gifts this year from only locally owned or small business internet companies, while passing over the big box stores and chains.  We challenge others to join us, make an actual person do a Happy Dance!
  • Graduation - I’m sad to see my “baby bird” leave the nest, I’m happy for her opportunity to soar and I can’t wait to see where she goes in life!

In a few months, my middle daughter is about to go through an important rite of passage—graduation. As a mother, it’s both a happy and sad time for me. Though I’m sad to see my “baby bird” leave the nest, I’m happy for her opportunity to soar and I can’t wait to see where she goes in life!

Her graduation inspired us to create “For the Graduate” on Fussbudget.com. I have been searching far and wide for the perfect graduation gifts. From the iconic monogrammed towel wrap and beautiful sterling silver keepsakes, to rich leather goods and the utilitarian tool box (can’t forget the guy grads), we have some wonderful items. And, for the chic dorm room (guaranteed to be “grammed”), we have peel and stick wall murals—coming soon!!
  • The ALS Disability Insurance Access Act was reintroduced in the 116th Congress this week. Introduced with strong bipartisan support from 40 senators and 90 representatives. Learn how you can take action as an ALS Advocate in today!

When my late husband, Tom Pierotti, passed away in February of 2010 he had been receiving the Social Security Benefits that he had been contributing to and paying for his entire working career for ONLY A MONTH. Tom lost his battle with this horrendous disease a mere eighteen (18) months after diagnosis. I believe the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act will grant IMMEDIATE relief to patients and families enduring not only the ravages of this horrific disease but also ease the burden of carrying all the new financial uncertainties that accompany ALS.

Please take the time to click this link and contact your Congressmen and Senators. I am very grateful for the Bipartisan efforts on both sides of the aisle for the Senators and Congressmen who may make this a reality for all the families currently suffering with this brutal thief of a disease. Please act in memory of our beloved Tom!!!

  • Fussbudget has officially gone to the dogs—and we are doggone proud of it!!!

Well, I’m excited to admit that Fussbudget has officially gone to the dogs—and we are doggone proud of it!!!

Just last week, we introduced three wonderful new lines designed for our four-legged friends. And, as the mother of _____ dogs, I have enlisted them to do some product testing.

Izzie, our Westie, and Foots, our Chesapeake, wrote their first “Dog Blog” and provided Five Paw Reviews of our new beds. Be watching for more blogs from them in the future.
  • Inaugural Dog Blog - Guest Bloggers Izzie and Foots

This is Izzie. Foots and I are super excited to post our first “Dog Blog”; mainly because we spent a blissful night on our new denim lounge bed and the chill pad. Boy do we feel rested!

As experts on finding a good place to sleep (including people beds, couches and chairs) we can tell you that these dog beds are the best. They were so comfy!
  • Presidents Day

    Good morning Fussy Friends,

Happy President’s Day!  Today’s Fun Fact: Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, the holiday became popularly known as Presidents Day after it was moved as part of 1971's Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three day weekends for the nation's workers.

Today we are pleased to offer a 20% Savings with Code Lincoln (excluding watercolors and pencil portraits)

  • Some of best advice I ever received from a career mentor was, “Love what you do.”

Some of best advice I ever received from a career mentor was, “Love what you do.”

And I do! Even though I stayed up until well after midnight last night getting our glorious new dog beds online, I absolutely Ioved every second of it!
  • “How do you select the items for Fussbudget?”

A friend asked me the other day, “How do you select the items for Fussbudget?”

Well, the answer is simple: I love art and beauty.

Each vendor I approached has products that are both artistic and beautiful. So, of course I would be—and am—a customer myself. In fact, most items on our website can be found in my own home. (Just so we have our stories straight, I tell my husband I am “product testing.”)

  • A brief history of Fussbudget.com since 1998

As many of you may not know, I originally created Fussbudget.com in my garage in 1998 as a basket purse company. I had the fondest memories of playing with my mother’s purse as a child. So, I hired incredibly talented artists who would paint your home & family on a basket purse (with a penny glued inside for luck).
  • What's in a name?

Fussbudget gets its uncommon moniker from my maiden name, "Fuss". Fussbudget.com was founded in 1998 and has taken pride in sourcing unique, high-end gifts, home accents and art and have even been featured on MSNBC.
